We took a trip to San Diego, California and visited several breweries. Our first stop was Ballast Point.
What is Ballast Point?
What stemmed from a small craft brewery, Ballast Point has now become a staple craft beer that is served in all fifty states. Their Sculpin beer, a very hoppy (and tasty) IPA is their most popular beer, which has also won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup in 2010. Ballast Point is also the recipient of many other accolades at various competitions.
Who is Justin Grasso-King?
We met with Justin Grasso-King and asked him a few things about Ballast Point, and specifically their Sculpin IPA. Justin started out as a dishwasher at Ballast Point, and after a year and a half later with three promotions, he now leads tours at their Miramar location.
